Is this how we eat dinner?

This is a monumental night for us in a way. I can count on one hand how many nights we have sat down as a family and had dinner. Partially because our table only seats four. Our schedules for most of our married life involved Justin going to school at night and getting home late, so it became normal to feed the kids in the high chair or up to the counter and we would eat after they go to bed. I have wanted to sit down and eat as a family for a LONG time.
We need a new table that fits 6. But for now this table was one that our Landlord left and we used it in the basement. I decided we should repaint it and use it upstairs. We are in the process of "fixing it up". Is it my DREAM table... no. But this is a dream come true, we eat as a family all together at the same time in the same place!!!
To show how un-familiar we are with eating at the table this was Kennedy's comment as I called them to come sit down. "Mom, so this is how you eat dinner?"
Notice Oaklee's "coat"! This is the BEST bib ever. It saves me A LOT of laundry!

We ended the night with Game Night. It was a lot of fun... and not only because I WON :)

A Fairy, A Dinosaur & A Dragon!

What do a FAIRY, a DINOSAUR & a DRAGON have in common??
LOTS OF FUN!!!
Last week we had our friend Ethan over and we had a ton of fun!
They played dress up, these are the only 2 "boy" dress ups we have:)
 We ate some yummy lunch
 We played in the sand
 We jumped out our energy!
 And then we took "resters".
Kennedy has so much fun with Ethan. We are lucky to have great friends!!

Joy School

Kennedy's first day of Joy School Pre-school
8/20/2012

She was VERY excited that she got a backpack and supplies (like Payton)!

Oaklee was SO SAD that Kennedy had school. She screamed for 45 minutes straight after we dropped her off. "My sister gone!" I love their friendship!
These are some pictures taken by Stacey at school.

They learned the letter A and the Joy of the body :)
I have been SO very lucky to become friends with the wonderful ladies I have. Without hesitation they invited me to do this Joy School with them. I adore all of the Mom's participating and their kids are so sweet! Kennedy LOVES school and feels like such a big girl, but she will always be my little peanut... her words:)

GO BRONCOS!!

Broncos VS Seahawks
Yesterday we were invited to the Bronco's game by one of Justin's Co-workers. The tickets were AMAZING!! Club level, 50 yard line.....SWEET!! We were SO GRATEFUL that my awesome friend Lori came over and watched the girls so we could go.

First NFL game ever and it was so much fun! An awesome date with my hubby and his favorite thing ever made for one pretty great night!!!!

Thunderbolts!

Payton had her first soccer game this morning! Her team name is the THUNDERBOLTS. I absolutely love that Payton wants to play soccer. Last night she was SO NERVOUS about her first game. She has only had one practice and still has no clue what is going on. So I understand her nerves. After the game she said " Mom I totally love soccer". So I guess it was a success.... we just have A LOT of practicing to do :)
GOOD JOB SWEETIE!!

 Proud Parents!

It is completely built in to my DNA to be competitive so I need to learn that this is going to be a learning process and with practice will come competitiveness..... I hope :)

we have a 1st GRADER!!

Payton started 1st grade yesterday (8-7-12)!
The morning drop off was much more emotional than i had anticipated it to be. Kennedy was having a hard time with Payton going back to school and at first it was frustrating. Then once we got to the school and it became more real to me that she would be gone for 7 hours I was very emotional. I say emotional and not sad because I had SO many emotions running through me. Sadness was one, but I was also worried. Had I taught her how to be a good friend, listen and work hard, did she know how much we love her and would miss her?
So we got to the line and seeing her there with all the kids made me start to tear up! I was not expecting that. I was really excited to be down to 2 kids all day, what was going on? Watching Payton talk to her class mates just beaming with excitement made me SO HAPPY. She was ready, she would do fine!
SHE LOOKED ADORABLE... if I may say so :)
Payton and Avery headed to school.
These 2 are in different classes this year (sniff, sniff) but they did play at recess and lunch. I am so glad Payton has Avery! Luckily they have cool mom's and they will be playing on the same soccer team and Dance :)
 Kennedy was so sad :(
It broke my heart when we got home and Kennedy asked if it was rest time so when they got up Payton would be home (that was the kindergarten routine).

Payton's first school lunch. A funny thing to document really, but I've waited to have a kid in school just to do this:) I'm a crazy mom I know it!!
Payton had a great first day, we all survived and today was a lot easier.
WE LOVE OUR BIG SIS AND THINK SHE IS PRETTY A+ !!

Hiking

Last week we took a drive out to Colorado Springs and visited this park called Garden of the Gods. Justin had mentioned it to me and then I saw my friend had been there (thanks Rebecca) so we decided to check it out. I am constantly trying to find hikes and things to do here. This did NOT disappoint!

The girls LOVED climbing all over these rock formations.
 Our little Blondie!

It was SO HOT and luckily we had this umbrella to help shade the girls a little bit.

It was gorgeous out there! Absolutely beautiful.
Probably something to go back to in the fall when you can stand to be out there for hours!
